Planning Online is a database of Planning Applications submitted to the Council since 1st January 1998.

Before using this website please read the information below regarding public access of planning information. If you require any further information on using this website please contact the Council using the contact details displayed on the left of the screen.

Limitations of the service

The planning explorer service provided has certain limitations:

  • Planning records are available on line back to 1st of January 1998
  • Planning documents are available on line back to 1st December 2005
  • The online planning records contained within this site are at present incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal Land Charges Search. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or ommissions in the planning history information obtained from the Planning Online database.
  • Similarly the information contained within the Planning Online database does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken at the viewers own risk.
  • Under normal circumstances the details of new planning applications will be able to be viewed within 3 working days of receipt of a valid application. If details are not available you may wish to try a few days later or alternatively you will be able to view the application and assorted douments at the Council's City Hall Offices during normal office hours.
  • Under the Local Government (Access to information act 1985) your comments will be made available for public inspection at the Council's City Hall offices.

Plans, drawings and materials submitted to the Council are protected by the copyright acts (section 47, 1988). You may only use material which is download and or printed for consultation purposes; to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed together with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.
